As the war in Ukraine develops and it’s consequences increase – the Association of Ukrainians in Poland undertakes aid initiatives to help Ukraine and assist refugees from Ukraine in these hard times. We encourage you to support Ukraine through donating to our special bank account:

Money collections are the easiest, yet most effective form of help – whereas collection of items are only needed in very specific and the most effective are local collections. We encourage everyone to help in a way that leaves a lot of flexibility of how to assist the needy locally – whether to buy a blanket, sleeping bag, first aid kit, water or a travel ticket. The Association of Ukrainians in Poland organizes or kinds of help and engages in other organization undertakings. See below the list of initiatives in which we are engaged.

What do we do?

From Szczecin to Przemyśl and from Olsztyn to Legnica – wherever our branches and the members of our organization are present, one would see our engagement in the aid for Ukraine and our assistance to people who flee the war and its consequences. We don’t talk much about it cause that’s how we are – we’d rather focus on being active than talk. Nevertheless, it is worth to know and remember about the activities of our volunteers. We invite you to join our funds collections and voluntary actions.

Please note, we rarely conduct collections of items such as food/cloths or medical items. Check before donating those.

We recommend a list of collections conducted by Polish NGOs, whose many years of experience ensures great crises reponse.

Financial aid

We conduct two money collections of our own, support and recommend the collection of other NGOs. By these means support is reaching Ukraine, the frontline and the refugees.

Organizational support

Our volunteers help through interpretation, information, design, deliveries and transport. Their support both the activities of Association, the reception points and other NGOs.

Collection of items

Some of our branches still collect the much needed items. Check before donating: most of the storage spaces we have access to, had reached its capacity.

Protests

We call for the stop of the war, more sanctions, no-fly zone and solidarity with Ukraine. You will hear and see our calls on the streets, next to the Embassies and in the media.

Przemyśl – direct help at the border | Crises center in the Narodnyi Dim
Tens and hundreds of volunteers who speak both Polish and Ukrainian support the reception of refugees in Podkarpackie voivodeship: in reception points (Medyka, Korczowa, the Przemyśl railway station) as well as right at the border crossing (Medyka). They translate the dialogues with officers, help finding direct aid on the spot and get oriented in Polish reality (railways, pharmacies, available support). The work of volunteers is coordinated by the team of the Przemyśl branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland. Szczecin – continuation of an aid action conducted through part 8 years
For the Szczecin branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland money collection to buy necessary items for Ukraine has been an everyday thing for past 8 years (ever since Russia invaded Crimea). Now, their undertakings have been intensified and enriched by i.e. trainings in tactical first aid. They have conducted items collection too, but their storage is currently full.

Warsaw – cooperation with the Ukrainian House
In close cooperation with the Ukrainian House in Warsaw and „Our Choice” Foundation we organize protests against the Russian aggression on Ukraine, publish calls to action for the government and conduct aid initiatives.
